Terms of Service
Last updated: October 30, 2026
The short version
- Kantan is a self-custody wallet. Only you can move your crypto. We never hold it, and we can’t freeze, recover or reverse it.
- Transactions on a blockchain are final. Check the recipient, amount and network before you confirm.
- If you lose access to your passkey and your recovery phrase, we can’t get your wallet back for you.
- Swaps, network moves and trading run on third-party protocols. Kantan is the app you use to reach them.
- Our fees are shown before you confirm. Network fees go to the blockchain, not to us.
- Points have no cash value and can be removed if they were earned unfairly.
- Disputes go to individual arbitration, unless you opt out within 30 days.
This summary helps you read the terms. It does not replace them.
1. About these terms
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and Omnistra Protocol LLC, a Delaware limited liability company (“Omnistra”, “we”, “us”). They apply to the Kantan Wallet app, our websites and any related services (together, “Kantan”).
By creating or importing a wallet, or by otherwise using Kantan, you agree to these Terms and confirm that you have read our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Kantan.
Some features come with extra terms, such as our Trading Disclosures and Points Program Terms, or terms we show in the app. They are part of these Terms. If they conflict with these Terms, the extra terms apply to that feature.
These Terms are written in English. If we give you a translation, the English version controls.
2. Who can use Kantan
You may use Kantan only if:
- you are at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live if that is higher;
- you can form a binding contract;
- you are not a person or entity named on a sanctions list kept by the United States, the United Nations, the European Union or the United Kingdom, and you are not owned or controlled by one;
- you are not located in, or ordinarily resident in, a country or region subject to comprehensive sanctions by any of those authorities (currently including Cuba, Iran, North Korea, and the Crimea, so-called Donetsk People’s Republic and so-called Luhansk People’s Republic regions of Ukraine, a list that can change); and
- using Kantan is lawful for you where you are.
If you use Kantan for a company or other organization, you confirm that you are allowed to accept these Terms for it, and “you” includes that organization.
3. What Kantan is
Kantan is software that lets you create and manage your own crypto wallets. It is self-custody: your private keys are created and kept on your device, and only you can approve a transaction.
We do not hold, control, or have access to your crypto assets. We are not a bank, exchange, broker, payment service or custodian. We do not buy, sell or exchange crypto assets with you or for you. When you swap, move assets between networks or trade, those actions are carried out by independent blockchain protocols and service providers (see sections 6, 7 and 11).
Nothing in Kantan is investment, financial, legal or tax advice. We don’t recommend any asset or transaction, and we don’t owe you any fiduciary duty. Decide for yourself, and get professional advice if you need it.
4. Your wallet and your keys
How your wallet is protected
When you create a wallet, its private key is generated on your device and stored in your device’s secure storage. Using it requires Face ID, Touch ID, another biometric or your device passcode.
To let you restore your wallets on a new phone, Kantan can keep an encrypted backup on our servers. The backup is locked with a passkey that lives in your Apple or Google password manager. We cannot unlock it, read it, or use it to move your assets. For imported wallets you can choose to keep everything on this device only, with no backup.
Signing in with Apple or Google opens your Kantan account. It does not, by itself, unlock your wallets.
Your responsibilities
- Keep your device, its passcode, and your Apple or Google account secure.
- If you have a recovery phrase, write it down and keep it somewhere safe and private. Anyone who has it can take your assets.
- Never share your recovery phrase or private key. We will never ask for them. Anyone who asks is trying to steal from you.
If you lose access
If you lose your device and can no longer use your passkey, and you don’t have your recovery phrase, your assets may be lost for good. We can’t reset your keys, and we can’t recover, freeze or move your assets for you.
5. Sending and receiving
- Transactions are final. Once a transaction is sent to a blockchain, it can’t be cancelled or reversed, by you or by us.
- Check the recipient, amount, coin and network before you confirm. Assets sent to a wrong address or an unsupported network may be lost. Some recipients, such as exchanges, may also need a destination tag or memo.
- Blockchains need network fees (“gas”). We show an estimate before you confirm, but the final amount is set by the network. A transaction can fail and still use up some network fees.
- Confirmation times depend on the network and can be slow when it is busy.
- Some coins need a minimum balance on their network (for example, XRP needs a reserve). We show these limits where they apply.
Paying network fees with a stablecoin
For some transactions you can choose to pay the network fee with a stablecoin such as USDT instead of the network’s own coin. In that case, we or a provider we work with pays the network fee and you pay the amount shown before you confirm.
6. Swaps and network moves
Kantan lets you request quotes to swap one asset for another, or to move an asset from one network to another. These are carried out by third-party protocols, aggregators and bridges (“Providers”). We choose which Providers the app uses, but we don’t control them.
- A quote shows the expected amount, our fee and the minimum you will receive. Prices can move before your transaction is confirmed. If the result would be less than the minimum shown, the transaction should not go through.
- We refresh the quote just before you confirm. We may refuse to show a quote, or stop a swap, when we can’t confirm a reliable price.
- Moving assets between networks can take time, and a Provider may delay or fail to complete a transfer. When that happens we will show you what we know, but we can’t complete or reverse the transfer ourselves.
- Providers have their own terms and risks, including smart contract bugs, hacks, and pauses.
- We don’t guarantee the best price. Quotes come from the Providers we use, and other services may offer better prices.
- Pending transactions on public blockchains can be seen by others, and some may try to trade ahead of yours (often called front-running or MEV). This can make your result worse, but the minimum you will receive still applies.
- In addition to our fee, we may receive fees, rebates or other compensation from Providers in connection with your transaction. If a Provider gets a better price than quoted, the difference may be kept by the Provider or shared with us, depending on the Provider.
- Every swap and network move is your own decision. We don’t solicit or recommend any transaction.
7. Trading
Where available, Kantan may offer an interface for trading perpetual futures on the Hyperliquid protocol, an independent decentralized exchange. Your orders are placed from your own wallet, and Hyperliquid handles matching, margin and settlement. We don’t act as a broker, counterparty or clearing house, and we don’t hold your margin.
- Trading with leverage is very risky. A small price move against you can lead to liquidation and the loss of all the margin you put in a position.
- Trading may not be available where you live (see section 15). We may limit the markets and the maximum leverage shown in the app.
- Hyperliquid’s own rules and terms apply to your trades.
Before you trade, read our Trading Disclosures. They explain fees, liquidation and other risks, and they are part of these Terms.
8. Fees
- Creating a wallet, holding assets, receiving and sending are free from us. You only pay the network fee.
- We charge a fee on some swaps, network moves and trades. The fee is shown in the quote or order screen before you confirm, and you agree to it when you confirm.
- Our fee may be collected by a Provider and passed to us as part of the transaction.
- Network fees and any fees charged by Providers are separate from our fee and are not paid to us.
- Fees for a transaction that has been sent to a blockchain can’t be refunded, even if the transaction later fails.
- We may change our fees. Changes apply only to transactions you confirm after the change.
9. Prices and other information
Prices, balances, charts and other information in Kantan come from blockchains and data providers. We check prices against more than one source. If we can’t confirm a reliable price, we may show the last confirmed price marked as updating, and we may stop swaps until the price is confirmed.
Even so, information may be delayed, incomplete or wrong. Amounts shown in your local currency are estimates. Don’t rely on Kantan as your only source of information for financial decisions.
10. Safety features
Kantan includes features that help you avoid mistakes and scams. For example, it:
- checks websites and transaction requests and labels them as fine, a warning or dangerous;
- blocks sites reported as fake or dangerous;
- stops sends to addresses that look very similar to ones you have used, which is a common scam;
- hides tokens and NFTs that are not on our supported list, and incoming transfers worth less than US$0.10.
These features lower risk, but they can’t catch everything, and sometimes they may flag something that is safe. A “fine” result is not a guarantee. You are responsible for every transaction and approval you confirm. Hidden assets stay in your wallet on the blockchain; we just don’t show them.
11. Websites and third-party services
Kantan lets you open websites and connect your wallet to decentralized apps, for example through WalletConnect or the in-app browser. These sites and apps, and the Providers we use, are not run by us. We don’t endorse them and we aren’t responsible for what they do, what they show you or what happens to transactions you approve with them.
When you approve a request from a site, you may be letting it move your assets (for example, an unlimited token approval). Read every request carefully. You can see and cancel approvals you have given in the app; cancelling one is itself a blockchain transaction with a network fee.
12. Points and referrals
- Our Points Program Terms apply to points and referrals. Here are the main rules.
- Kantan may give you points for activity such as referring friends, swaps and network moves. The app explains how points are earned.
- Points have no cash or crypto value. They are not property, a security, a currency or a promise of any future token or reward. They can’t be sold, transferred or exchanged for anything unless we say so in the app.
- A referral reward applies once per device. It is given only after the invited person completes a swap or network move worth at least US$10. Referral rewards are not available in the United Kingdom or in other places where the law doesn’t allow them.
- You can add a referral code when you start, or once later in settings. After it is added it can’t be changed or removed. A code added later counts from the day you started using Kantan.
- We don’t show the name of the person who invited you, or the names of the people you invite.
- We may check that the app and device are genuine before giving points. Modified apps, emulators and modified devices don’t earn referral points.
- We may cancel points that were earned unfairly, for example through fake accounts, repeated installs, automation or self-referrals, and we may suspend points for an account we reasonably believe is involved.
- We may change or end the points program at any time.
13. Help and AI answers
The help chat in Kantan is answered by AI, using our help articles. Answers may be incomplete or wrong, and they are not financial, legal or tax advice. The chat can’t see or move your assets. Don’t type your recovery phrase or private key into the chat or anywhere else; the app will try to stop you if you do.
Kantan can also send you notifications, such as when you receive assets. Notifications can be late or missing, so check the app for the current state of your wallet.
14. Things you must not do
You agree not to:
- use Kantan for anything illegal, including money laundering, terrorist financing, fraud or sanctions evasion;
- use Kantan to take or move assets that are not yours, or to trick other people;
- hide your location to get around the limits in section 15;
- copy, change, reverse engineer or resell Kantan, except where the law allows it even if these Terms say otherwise;
- interfere with Kantan, our servers or other users, or try to get unauthorized access;
- use bots, scripts or many accounts or devices to earn points or abuse promotions; or
- use our name, logo or the Kantan name in a way that suggests we endorse you.
15. Where Kantan is available
Some features are not offered everywhere. In particular, trading is not offered to people located in the United States, the United Kingdom, Ontario (Canada), Belgium, or a country or region under comprehensive sanctions, or in other places where we choose not to offer it. The app shows which features are available where you are. We may use your IP address and other signals to decide this.
You must not use a feature where it is not offered, including by using a VPN or other tools to hide where you are. We may block or limit features at any time to comply with laws, sanctions or the rules of app stores.
16. Taxes
You are responsible for working out, reporting and paying any taxes that apply to your transactions. We don’t give tax advice, and we don’t withhold or report taxes for you unless the law requires us to.
17. Changes
We are always improving Kantan. We may add, change or remove features, coins, networks or Providers, and we may pause a feature if there is a problem.
Some features may be labeled beta, preview or test. They may not work as expected, may change or be removed at any time, and are provided as is.
We may update these Terms. If a change is important, we will tell you in the app or by other reasonable means before it takes effect. The date at the top shows when the Terms last changed. If you keep using Kantan after a change takes effect, you accept the new Terms. If you don’t agree, stop using Kantan. Changes to section 23 won’t apply to a dispute we already know about.
18. Ending use and deleting your account
You can stop using Kantan at any time. You can delete your Kantan account from the app’s settings. When you do, we delete the data we keep for your account, as described in our Privacy Policy, including your encrypted backups and address book.
Before deleting your account, make sure you have your recovery phrase for every wallet you want to keep. Deleting your account does not delete or move anything on a blockchain. Your assets stay at your addresses, and you can reach them with your recovery phrase in any compatible wallet.
We may suspend or end your access to our servers if you break these Terms, if the law requires it, or if your use creates risk for us or others. Because Kantan is self-custody, this does not stop you from reaching your assets with your recovery phrase.
Sections 3, 8 (for fees already due), 12 (cancelling points), and 19 to 26 continue after these Terms end.
19. Our rights and your feedback
Kantan, including its software, design, text, the Kantan name and the mascot, belongs to us or our licensors. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app for your own use under these Terms. Some parts of the app use open-source software under its own license, and those licenses apply to those parts.
If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them without paying you or owing you anything.
20. Disclaimers
Kantan is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title and non-infringement, and any warranty that Kantan will be uninterrupted, secure or error-free.
Crypto assets carry serious risks. Their prices can change sharply and can fall to zero. Blockchains, smart contracts, bridges and Providers can fail, be attacked or change their rules. Laws about crypto assets can change and may affect what you can do. We are not responsible for losses caused by these risks, by blockchains or Providers, or by your own mistakes, such as sending to a wrong address or approving a harmful request.
Some places don’t allow these disclaimers, so some of them may not apply to you.
21. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows:
- we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or lost or stolen crypto assets, even if we were told they might happen; and
- our total liability for all claims about Kantan is limited to the greater of (a) the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the event that led to the claim, or (b) US$100.
These limits do not apply to liability that cannot be limited by law, such as liability for fraud, gross negligence or wilful misconduct, or for death or personal injury caused by our negligence. If you live in a place whose law gives consumers rights that can’t be waived, nothing in these Terms takes those rights away.
22. Indemnity
To the extent the law allows, you agree to defend and hold harmless Omnistra and its members, managers, employees and contractors against claims, losses and costs (including reasonable legal fees) that come from your breach of these Terms, your misuse of Kantan or your breaking the law or someone else’s rights. This does not apply to the extent a claim is caused by our own breach or misconduct.
23. Disputes and arbitration
Please read this section carefully. It affects how disputes are resolved and includes a waiver of class actions.
Talk to us first
Before starting a formal claim, email us at [email protected] with your name, how to reach you, and a description of the problem and what you want. We will try in good faith to resolve it within 60 days.
Arbitration
If we can’t resolve it, you and we agree that any dispute about Kantan or these Terms will be settled by binding individual arbitration administered by JAMS. Claims of US$250,000 or less follow the JAMS Streamlined Arbitration Rules and Procedures, and larger claims follow the JAMS Comprehensive Arbitration Rules and Procedures, in each case together with the JAMS Consumer Arbitration Minimum Standards. The arbitration may be held online or by video, or in a place reasonably convenient to you. The arbitrator decides questions about whether a dispute must be arbitrated. The Federal Arbitration Act governs this section.
Fees are paid as the JAMS rules require. For a consumer claim, you will not pay more than the filing fee JAMS sets for consumers, or the fee to file in court if that is lower, and we pay the rest of the JAMS fees.
Exceptions
Either of us may bring an individual claim in small claims court, and either of us may ask a court to stop the misuse of intellectual property or unauthorized access to our systems.
No class actions
Claims may be brought only on an individual basis, not as a plaintiff or class member in any class, collective or representative proceeding. The arbitrator may not combine claims of more than one person. If this waiver can’t be enforced for a claim, that claim will be decided in court, not in arbitration.
Mass arbitration
If 25 or more similar demands are filed against us, or by us, by the same or coordinated lawyers or organizations, they will be administered under the JAMS Mass Arbitration Procedures and Guidelines. The lawyers for both sides will first choose up to 10 demands to be decided as test cases, and the other demands will be paused, with no fees due for them, until the test cases are decided. Both sides will then try in good faith to settle the rest. If that fails, the remaining demands will be decided in batches of up to 100. A court may enforce this paragraph, and the time limits for the paused claims are suspended while they wait.
No jury trial
To the extent the law allows, you and we give up any right to a jury trial for a dispute that is heard in court instead of in arbitration.
Opting out
You can opt out of this arbitration agreement by emailing [email protected] within 30 days of first accepting these Terms. Include your name and say that you want to opt out of arbitration. Opting out doesn’t affect any other part of these Terms.
Where you live may matter
If you live in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or another place whose law gives consumers a right to bring claims in their local courts that can’t be waived, this section doesn’t take that right away.
24. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to its conflict of law rules, except that the Federal Arbitration Act governs section 23. Any claim that is not arbitrated will be heard in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you and we agree to their jurisdiction, unless the law where you live requires otherwise. The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply.
25. App Store and Google Play
If you downloaded Kantan from Apple’s App Store:
- These Terms are between you and us, not Apple. We, not Apple, are responsible for the app and its content.
- Your license is limited to using the app on Apple devices you own or control, as allowed by the App Store’s Usage Rules.
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app.
- If the app fails to meet a warranty that applies by law, you may tell Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price, if any. Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app.
- We, not Apple, are responsible for handling any claims about the app, including product liability claims, claims that the app fails to meet legal or regulatory requirements, and consumer protection claims.
- If someone claims the app infringes their intellectual property, we, not Apple, are responsible for dealing with that claim.
- You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as supporting terrorism, and that you are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- You must also follow any third-party terms that apply when you use the app, such as your mobile carrier’s terms.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
If you downloaded Kantan from Google Play, Google Play’s terms also apply to your download. Google is not responsible for the app.
You can send questions or complaints about the app to the contacts in section 27.
26. General
- Whole agreement. These Terms, the Privacy Policy and any feature terms shown in the app are the whole agreement between you and us about Kantan.
- Severability. If a part of these Terms can’t be enforced, the rest stays in effect.
- No waiver. If we don’t enforce a right right away, we don’t give it up.
- Assignment. You may not transfer these Terms. We may transfer them, for example as part of a merger or sale of our business, and we will tell you if we do.
- Events beyond control. We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control, such as blockchain outages, attacks, natural disasters or changes in law.
- Notices. We may send you notices in the app or by email if you gave us one. You can send notices to the addresses below.
- Electronic communications. You agree that we may give you these Terms, notices and other communications electronically, in the app, on our website or by email, and that they meet any legal requirement to be in writing. You can save or print them. You can withdraw this consent by stopping use of Kantan and deleting your account.
- Export controls. Kantan contains encryption technology and is subject to U.S. export control and sanctions laws. You agree not to export, re-export or transfer it in breach of those laws, or to use it for any purpose they prohibit.
- Copyright complaints. If you believe something in Kantan infringes your copyright, email [email protected] with the information listed in 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3).
- Other companies’ names. Names and logos of coins, networks, protocols and websites shown in Kantan belong to their owners. Showing them doesn’t mean they endorse Kantan, or that we endorse them.
- Notice for California users. Under California Civil Code Section 1789.3, California users are entitled to this notice: the Complaint Assistance Unit of the Division of Consumer Services of the California Department of Consumer Affairs can be contacted in writing at 1625 North Market Blvd., Suite N 112, Sacramento, CA 95834, or by telephone at (800) 952-5210.
